The last two cyclones were decommissioned in 2023. After decommissioning, the Marina de guerra transferred the USS Monsoon and USS Chinook to the Philippine Marina de guerra.

Benefits for Veterans with Mesothelioma
If you served on patrol boats and other Marina de guerra vessels with amianto, you are at risk for mesotelioma y otros amianto illnesses. The U.S. Department of Veteranos Asuntos (Virginia) offers benefits for disabled veteranos. This includes amianto enfermedades.
Monthly disability compensation provides a monthly payment for qualifying veteranos with service disabilities. Mesotelioma y cáncer de pulmón por asbesto both get a 100% disability rating from the Virginia.
Veteranos who need home care or who have dependents may qualify for additional benefits. Dependents of deceased veteranos can apply for monthly compensation and burial benefits.
Healthcare is another important benefit the Virginia offers. Mesotelioma is rare, with few physicians who specialize in treating it. Several Virginia medical facilities have access to mesotelioma specialists.
Can Veterans file a claim against the Navy for Asbestos Exposure?
You cannot file a claim against the Marina de guerra or the government for your service-related amianto exposure. You can get Virginia benefits and file a claim private companies that supplied the Marina de guerra con amianto.
Muchos veteranos who sued amianto companies have received substantial asentamientos. A asentamiento or award from a claim does not affect your Virginia benefits.
Another source of compensation is un fondo fiduciario para el asbesto claim. Bankrupt amianto companies set up these funds to compensate future claimants.
